I am from the Bronx and chose Mott Haven as a case-study. I would love to investigate this topic further, and would love to read more about other neighborhoods that comprise the South Bronx.

I know this isn’t a hard news article but just a couple of things. The South Bronx doesn’t just include Mott Haven; Mott Haven is one of a few neighborhoods in the South Bronx which is seeing redevelopment all over it.

Also, with regard to the Bronx fires and particularly the statement made by the announcer I recently learned that’s a myth. Do a little digging and you’ll confirm that. Also, fires weren’t only set by building owners.

Also, the South Bronx had been in decay long before the 1950s and 1960s and had also housed poor immigrants before then. There is a long rich and sordid history associated with the South Bronx and there have been many books authored on it and there are some experts on it.
